We are pleased to announce the promotion of Mahdi Ebnali, PhD to the team at STRATUS as a Research Scientist in the Human Factors and Cognitive Engineering Lab. Dr. Ebnali had previously served as a STRATUS post-doctoral fellow.
Dr. Ebnali completed his post-doctoral training in STRATUS, having excelled and become an integral part of our team. Dr. Ebnali obtained dual master’s degrees in Human Factors and Engineering as well as Computer Science in Iran before completing a PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering at the State University of New York-Buffalo. During his time in STRATUS, Dr. Ebnali has been involved with a wide range of research projects, with special interests in the use of extended reality (augmented reality and virtual reality) to support clinicians and patients by developing, testing, and implementing training and clinical decisions support systems.
Recently, Dr. Ebnali received an award for Most Innovative poster at the 2022 Perioperative and Critical Care Conference from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, for his poster “Cognitive Workload in Minimally Invasive and Standard Aortic Valve Replacement Surgery”. We are thrilled about Dr. Ebnali’s advancement and look forward to seeing his future accomplishments!
