Welcome Dr. Kathleen Wittels, New Director of the International Fellowship in Clinical Simulation

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Kathleen Wittels as our new Director of the International Fellowship in Clinical Simulation! Dr. Wittels currently serves as the Assistant Director of Emergency Medicine for STRATUS and will continue with this position as well.

Dr. Wittels is a practicing emergency medicine physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Harvard Medical School. She earned her medical degree from Brown University Warren Alpert Medical School and completed residency in the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency (HAEMR) at BWH and Mass General Hospital.

“I have been fortunate to be involved with STRATUS for my entire career at BWH, first as a learner and later as a course director and Assistant Medical Director,” said Dr. Wittels. “I am excited to join the STRATUS leadership team in this new role and look forward to working with our fellows to expand the impact of simulation on medical education internationally.”

Dr. Wittels has a wealth of experience in medical education and leadership. She serves as the Director of Student Programs for the Department of Emergency Medicine at BWH and has developed innovative new curricula for Harvard medical students and learners. Dr. Wittels lectures nationally and internationally on medical simulation, assessment of learners, and many other topics.
